Cool little venue in Fremont area where I ended up taking my boyfriend for a night of Northwest cover bands of Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. Sound was excellent and stage set up was awesome. I know the band appreciates the fans lined up next to their monitors. It was getting steamy in here once it was a full house.

Drinks were cold, plentiful, and a little pricey but I wasn't complaining. Lots of good draft beers and tall boys for you to have as you watch the band.  Closer to the front entrance you will find table tops and booth seating that may or may not be reserved depending on who is playing. I do appreciate that these bartenders can read lips because once that music gets going it's impossible to hear anything.

It doesn't matter who you see or when you see them, this place just has something inviting to it. Whether you're by your lonesome or with a giant group of friends, this place makes you feel welcome. It's like your favorite bar, meets authentic Seattle music, with the flair of big concert sound. They have some stellar drinks and food. I love the 'High Dive' cocktail the most. I've peeped all Seattle music venues and most of its bars over the past 5 years, yet High Dive still feels like the best of all those worlds combined in one place. Definitely feel like this review is long overdue. You'll find great music, killer lighting, a chill atmosphere, and ridiculously cool staff. If you're looking for authenticity, this place is definitely in the realm of that iconoclastic Seattle music lore. Perfect place to just drop in to check out the scene or stay all night to see a set of acts.

Stumbled upon High Dive by accident, and I'm glad we did. The band that was performing the night we visited was great, and the atmosphere was really energetic. Would probably say it's a bit of a townie hang out, but it seems like a great local dive with good music.

One of the best small venues in Seattle. The sound system is good and usually well mixed without trying to blast the ears off of the room. From a performer's perspective, the monitor systems are great too and everything sounds good both on stage and from the audience. The drinks are decent with standard Rainier tallboys, a hoppy selection of draft beers, and daily cocktail specials.
There's even a food menu for Red Star next door! So if you get a hankering for some tacos or nachos, you don't even have to leave the venue.
But what makes the High Dive earn it's 5th star is the staff. Even the door guy has always been nice and pleasant - and he's the freakin DOOR GUY! Those guys are practically required to be dicks to everyone. But nah, that's just not their style at the High Dive. Which is part of what makes it so great.

Came here for karaoke Monday night with some friends. It was really hot in this bar. Like sweat was starting to drip down my face just from sitting in the booth.

They have drink specials, I think Monday night was $5 Jameson. I got a cider, my best friend got a gin and tonic. No complaints about the drinks.

Karaoke was fun, there were some good singers up on stage! It was just too hot in this bar.
